Davanti Sponsored Dan Zelos had a successful weekend at Snetterton, winning three out of his four races. Dan narrowly missed out on a clean sweep, with three victories and one runners-up position in the final race.
Dan began the weekend motivated in the first race. Despite a third-place start on the grid, Dan managed to quickly work his way to the front of the pack while having time to secure a healthy three-second lead. With continued determination, Dan began his winning streak with a victory in the second race, finishing 3.6 seconds ahead and even setting the fastest lap.
The third race marked Dan’s 100th race in the MINI CHALLENGE and his most eventful of the weekend. The race began with Dan in fifth position, with him dropping down to seventh. Undeterred, Dan managed to overtake multiple drivers and worked his way to the front of the pack.

Drawing inspiration from his previous wins, he pushed his car to 120 mph and made some “simply outrageous” moves to overtake his opponents. In the end, Dan secured his third victory of the weekend by a margin of less than two-tenths of a second after a dramatic last lap. With his third and final win of the weekend, this gave Dan his fifth victory from eight starts in 2024, marking his 21st career MINI CHALLENGE win.
In the fourth and final race of the weekend, Dan encountered a changed environment with a partially wet track. Starting in fourth position on the grid, Dan managed to overtake his competitors and reach second place with his eyes set on first. Unfortunately, his competitor Maximus Hall had built a comfortable four-second lead from second position. Despite Dan’s efforts, he ran out of time on the last lap, ultimately securing the runner-up spot in his final race.
Dan credits much of his win to his team EXCELR8 Motorsport for their excellent work, Dan said:
“That was a pretty perfect weekend – I really couldn’t have asked for very much more,” said Zelos “The classic British weather kept throwing curveballs at us and we never knew what we were going to be faced with next, but the EXCELR8 guys and girls did an amazing job to make the necessary changes to the car.
“The team pulled out all the stops after qualifying, tinkering with the set-up here and there, and that worked wonders. My MINI felt unreal in every race and we had a strong pace throughout; we made some moves and kept our cool, and that resulted in a huge haul of points to extend our championship lead.
