Thursday 20th July 2023This month, get to know Alex from Island Tyres & Autocare…
What services does your garage provide?
We are a fast fit and service centre offering tyre replacements and repairs, TPMS servicing and coding along with Hunter wheel alignment. We also carry out vehicle servicing and general repairs from timing belts and clutch replacements to light bulbs. We cover the vast majority of vehicle repairs and also supply alloy wheels.
How would you describe your business in 3 words?
Honest, friendly and reliable.
Tell us one interesting fact people may not know about you?
We’re a family run business and we will be turning 25 next year!!
What does your customer base typically value the most from your business?
It would definitely have to be our honesty and approachability, this is shown by our repeat customer base which in turn shows trust. I have the best team who give 110% and are all experienced in their relative aspects of the job. The garage trade has a bad stigma around it in general and this is something we are changing, one wheel at a time.
What encouraged you to become a customer of Davanti?
The tyre sells itself, it’s aesthetically pleasing, the ratings are up there with the best of them and the price is fair. We can offer our customers an exceptional product at a fair price.
What impact has being a Davanti dealer had on your business?
We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from customers about Davanti. The vast majority of customers who have tried them, use them again and again. As a brand it’s helping us build our already loyal customer base through continuity, value and exceptional results.
Which Davanti products are most popular with your customers?
DX390 and DX640 are by far the most popular patterns we sell. They give great value for money and performance for everyday driving. The Protoura Sport however, is proving equally popular.
If you could offer one piece of advice to a fellow garage owner just starting out in the industry, what would it be?
Definitely to walk before you run. Don’t try and do everything at once and don’t compare yourself to companies who have been running for years, you’ll get there.
